The winery occupies the summit of a hill whose slopes are covered with vineyards. The land is mostly southeast-facing and the soil is rich in red-brown ferrallitic clay, whose high iron oxide and hydroxide content gives the wines power and structure. The training system is mainly Guyot, which enables us to guarantee the vines excellent physiological conditions, a suitable microclimate around the canopy and makes the vineyard look tidy.

The land is kept naturally grassed over and is periodically mown. The guiding principle for all the decisions in running the vineyard is to reduce the pressure of diseases to a minimum while limiting defence intervention at the same time. Correct canopy management is the main method for getting top quality raw materials, i.e. good grapes that are ripe, full of colour, aromas, flavours and above all, healthy.
